Role Overview:

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering and maintenance operations of the resort. This includes ensuring the smooth functioning of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil systems, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest comfort expected in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage all engineering operations across the resort, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
* Ensure uninterrupted functioning of utilities such as power, water supply, HVAC, DG sets, and STP/ETP systems.
* Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
* Monitor and control departmental budgets, energy consumption, and cost optimization initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, safety standards, and environmental norms.
* Supervise vendor contracts, AMC services, and external contractors.
* Coordinate with other departments (Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B) to ensure seamless guest experience.
* Handle emergency situations such as equipment breakdowns, power failures, or safety hazards efficiently.
* Maintain records, reports, and documentation related to maintenance, inspections, and audits.
* Lead, train, and develop the engineering team to maintain high performance and service standards.

 


Job Expectations:

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience in managing large-scale property maintenance and utility systems.
* Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, firefighting systems, and building management systems (BMS).
* Familiarity with statutory compliance and safety regulations applicable to hotels/resorts.
* Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience in luxury resorts or adventure/hospitality setups.
* Knowledge of energy conservation and sustainability practices.
* Good communication and team management skills.
* Hands-on approach with strong technical expertise.


Minimum Qualification:

10–15 years of experience in engineering operations within the hospitality industry (resorts/hotels preferred).

Minimum Job Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
