Primary Purpose
Is responsible for managing events and ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to. Directs
coordination of activities to prepare for the day of the event.
Major skills and account abilities of position (4-6 major account abilities)
1. Must be skilled in project management, Computer savvy and proficient in MS Office.
2. Outstanding communication and negotiation ability.
3. Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management.
4. Excellent organizational skills, a team player with leadership skills and a knack for problem
solving.
5. The ability to work well with a large group of people in a team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Should coordinate details of events such as conferences, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries,
Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives.
2. Should provide suggestions to enhance the event’s success as per budgets and ensure
adherence.
3. Should source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
4. Should be in charge of hiring personnel (DJs, waiters etc.) and coordinate all operations.
5. Lead promotional activities for the event and supervise all staff (event coordinators,
caterers etc.)
6. Approve all aspects before the day of the event and ensure event is completed smoothly
and step up to resolve any problems that might occur.
7. Analyze the event’s success and prepare reports.
Experience and qualifications required for the job
BSc/BA in PR, Marketing, Hospitality management or related field is preferable. Should have
Proven experience as Event Manager of minimum 5-7 years of experience.
