Role Overview:
The Junior MEP Engineer will assist in the planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Fire Fighting, and Building Services activities for township and high-rise residential projects. The role involves supporting senior engineers in ensuring that all MEP systems are executed as per approved drawings, quality standards, safety norms, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
MEP Coordination & Site Execution
• Assist in the execution and coordination of MEP works at project sites.
• Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and site teams for smooth execution of services.
• Monitor site activities and ensure adherence to approved drawings and project specifications.
Electrical Systems
• Supervise day-to-day installation activities related to electrical systems.
• Assist in monitoring HT/LT systems, transformers, panels, DG sets, street lighting, and internal electrification works.
• Verify electrical layouts and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for timely completion of electrical works.
Mechanical Systems
• Assist in monitoring HVAC, ventilation, pumping systems, WTP, STP, and utility services.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities of mechanical systems.
• Identify and report technical issues to senior engineers for resolution.
Plumbing & Fire Fighting Services
• Monitor plumbing, drainage, water supply, stormwater, and sewage works.
• Assist in supervising fire fighting systems including hydrants, sprinklers, fire pumps, and related infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during execution.
Site Monitoring & Quality Control
• Conduct routine site inspections and prepare progress reports.
• Monitor contractor performance and workmanship quality.
• Ensure materials used on-site meet approved specifications.
• Assist in maintaining project quality and safety standards.
Testing & Commissioning
• Support testing and commissioning activities for all MEP systems.
• Assist in preparing snag lists and ensuring closure of observations.
• Coordinate documentation related to testing, inspections, and handovers.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain records of daily progress, material usage, inspections, and approvals.
• Assist in preparation of MIS reports, progress reports, and site documentation.
• Support preparation of as-built drawings and handover documents.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and consultants for smooth project execution.
• Follow up on material deliveries, approvals, and site requirements.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings and technical submissions.
Required Qualifications:
• Additional certifications in MEP Design, Project Management, Energy Management, or Building Services will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience in Integrated Townships, High-Rise Residential Buildings, Mixed-Use Developments, Commercial Buildings, and Large-Scale Infrastructure Projects.
• Experience in managing MEP systems from design coordination through execution and commissioning.
• Basic understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting Systems.
• Knowledge of MEP drawings and BOQs.
• Familiarity with NBC, IS Codes, and safety regulations.
• AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
• MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
